SUPPORT US
1. Donations to APSA
APSA is a registered, non-profit society established since nearly forty years. Its income is exempt from Indian income tax as a charitable organisation. APSA also has Credibility Alliance accreditation under Minimum Norms and is registered with the Niti Aayog. The cost of operations has been increasing steeply with the years. APSA does get grants from various institutions, which is what has enabled us to continue our basic activities. However, we also depend on donations and the goodwill of the public, local donors and philanthropists to meet the gap in costs for the work of protection of children and women in distress. If you would like to help us, we would be glad of your donation, either in cash or kind. Donations may be made in general for APSA’s work as a whole, or for a particular project or activity. For project/ event-specific donations, please specify the project/ event to which you are making the donation and we will ensure that it is applied to that purpose.
All donations made to APSA are exempt under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961.

VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT
APSA believes that volunteering is one way of bridging the gap between the haves and the have-nots. Since over 10 years, APSA has been encouraging colleges, companies and businesses in Bengaluru and Hyderabad cities to enable their employees to volunteer time at APSA. It is providential that since some years, companies have been giving their employees paid time off for volunteering. APSA supports such initiatives and encourages people to spend time in its projects. Orientation is given to volunteers on APSA’s institutional and community outreach projects as well as on social issues such as child marriage, child labour, human trafficking, laws governing women and child protection, and so on. Corporate volunteers have helped APSA by developing games for children in Dream School, teaching special subjects such as photography or art to skill trainees, helping at special events or helping write reports or develop promotional material for APSA projects. These volunteers become our ambassadors over time, drawing in other volunteers to help the cause of children’s rights.
APSA sees an annual footfall of at least 50-75 volunteers/ interns from within the state and country who give their energies to help out with APSA’s various projects. A smaller number of foreign volunteers (some 15-20 per year) are also a part of our volunteer engagement programme, spending from 15 days to 1 month at a time to help APSA with their time and skills.
